Fishing Report, October 30
Great weather the last few days and the fishing has been solid too. Mostly nymphing on the Flathead River for local trips and the Missouri River is fishing good too. Locally the weather is looking a little sporty the next few days. Rain, some snow in the hills, and not the warmest. The Missouri is looking warmer and there will maybe some sunshine here and there. I would expect the Missouri to fish better and better as it gets colder through November. Locally the Lake Superior Whitefish have been on fire.
Fishing Report, Whitefish
The Flathead River will fish pretty good through the rest of November. Trout and Whitefish are active and willing to eat. Nymphing is the most productive. With flows 3500cfs and temps peaking at 45 fish are still in the happy zone. I would expect bugs on cloudy days but stick with the nymph rigs if you’re looking for the most action. Streamer fishing is productive with the good ol olive crystal bugger being the most productive.
Fishing Report, Kalispell
Lake Superior Whitefish are the most active on the river this time of year. Spinning rods are the most effective way to target them. Green tube jigs are hot right now. On the bottom bouncing it along in the current. Subtle bits are the norm and any excuse to set the hook is key. We are running whitefish trips all November and into December until the weather won’t let us anymore. It’s a great trip and we can keep a few for you for dinner. Great trip…
