Fishing Report, February 2

February fishing? We’re on it! Guided trips year round means happy anglers and non stop action! We’ve had a fantastic week of ice fishing! The recent cold snap has been a boon, solidifying the ice on several lakes west of Kalispell and north of Whitefish. More frigid weather on tap this week, promising even better ice. We’ve been consistently finding perch, Smallmouth bass, whitefish, and kokanee salmon on various smaller, less-pressured waters. The forecast calls for more cold weather, which will only improve ice conditions and fishing. Ready to experience some of the best ice fishing of the season?

Fishing Report, Whitefish

Fishing Report, WhitefishExciting news for ice anglers! We’ve moved to some new, safe, and productive lakes north of Whitefish. These waters are offering a fantastic mixed bag, with kokanee, smaller rainbows, and perch all on the menu. Kokanee are a particularly good target right now—they’re plentiful, delicious, and stocked annually, making them an excellent choice if you’re hoping to bring home a meal. If you’re after pure numbers, the perch fishing is outstanding. And for those looking for variety, our custom combo trips allow you to target kokanee in the early morning and then switch to perch or rainbows as the day progresses. These lakes are easily accessible and offer a safe and enjoyable ice fishing experience. Contact us today to plan your trip north of Whitefish!

Fishing Report, Kalispell

Kalispell offers a diverse ice fishing experience, with options for anglers of all levels. If you’re looking for consistent action, the smaller lakes west of Kalispell are producing excellent perch fishing. For those seeking bigger fish, some of the larger lakes hold the potential for bigger fish. Some of  these waters require extra caution. While the majority of lakes in the Kalispell area are now in the safe zone, a few of the larger lakes still have variable ice conditions. We strongly encourage all anglers to prioritize safety: check ice thickness frequently, avoid areas with questionable ice, and never fish alone. We’ll be posting a detailed ice report on McGregor Lake later this week, providing the latest information on conditions and safety. Check back for updates!
