Fishing Report, May 15
More great fishing this last week! The Lakes in the Flathead area have been fishing really well and the Missouri River is really productive. The Flathead, Clark Fork and Blackfoot Rivers are currently blown out and unfishable. The weather for the next week is looking pretty nice. 70’s, 60’s and 50’s… All over the place. Let keep this cooler weather coming and we’ll be better off later this summer.
Fishing Report, Whitefish
The Flathead River is on a sharp rise at 25ooo CFS. It looks like the forks have leveled out and the south fork has dropped below the dam. I’m pretty sure its the colder weather slowing things down. Look for the main stem to drop a bit then go again once things warm up a bit. I’ll keep you posted…
Fishing Report, Kalispell
Rogers lake west of Kalispell is fishing great right now. Lots of willing Grayling to the boats over the last few days. Nymphing is very productive and so is dry fly fishing when the fish are looking up. Rogers lake is a great place to take new anglers and learn the ropes.
Fishing Report, Missouri River
The Missouri River is fishing great right now. Nymphing is solid right now. Long and deep, short and shallow, mid and medium is all producing. I’ve been liking long and deep in the morning until just after lunch. Then a shorten up and take off the weight and fish that fast 2 foot water. Really good.
