Fishing Report, November 14

November fishing has been exceptionally rewarding over the last week, thanks to the mild weather. We’re seeing great success targeting bigger trout, nymphing and streamer fishing.  Complementing the trout bite is some fantastic action on Lake Superior Whitefish. These hard-fighting fish are plentiful, providing a unique and consistent light-tackle opportunity right now. The weather next week looks great considering it’s the middle of November, which means we expect the fishing to remain solid! It’s the perfect time to target both a trophy trout and a great dinner!

Fishing Report, Whitefish

Fishing Report, WhitefishWe’ve had a phenomenal week of late-season action, fueled by mild weather and stable water conditions. The Flathead River near Columbia Falls is currently running at a perfect 3,620 CFS with stable temperatures peaking at 43°F. This is the prime window for targeting bigger trout using slow, deep nymphing techniques, but don’t overlook stripping streamers in quicker pockets—some large migratory cutthroat are still active there! Complementing the trout bite is the outstanding, light-tackle action on Lake Superior Whitefish. With the comfortable weather next week—a gift for mid-November—we expect this great fishing trend to remain solid!

Fishing Report, Kalispell

Fishing Report, KalispellThe Missouri River is providing excellent November fishing, characterized by solitude and consistent action. Flows are stable at 3,100 CFS with temperatures peaking at a healthy 48°F, keeping trout actively feeding. The most productive Missouri method is  nymphing with scuds, sow bugs and midges, though streamer fishing remains a high-reward option. Meanwhile, the Blackfoot River is firmly in its winter streamer season; focus entirely on swinging or stripping large patterns in the warmest part of the day, as those slower tactics will produce the most aggressive strikes.
