Fishing Report, November 9

It’s been a really busy guide season on the rivers and now things are starting to shift to winter. Actually, it’s already shifted into a winter pattern. We’ve had about a week or two of really cold weather and it’s looking like we will be cold for quite a bit. Some of the local lakes are starting to freeze up and rumors of a few folks venturing out on the hard water. I would exercise extreme caution on frozen water. There is not enough ice for it to be 100% safe yet. 1.5” is the most I’ve seen. It’s close but not there yet. I’ll give a report next week and we’ll see what shakes out. Fishing Report, Kalispell

If you’re in the Kalispell area and looking to get out and fish I would recommend Lake Superior Whitefish on the Flathead River. We’re using spinning rods with smaller tube jigs. Fish are in the slower water with a sand bottom. I haven’t really found them in the faster traveling water. Think slow and sandy to find the most opportunities.
