Fishing Report, November 9

Fishing Report, November 9-1It’s been a really busy guide season on the rivers and now things are starting to shift to winter. Actually, it’s already shifted into a winter pattern. We’ve had about a week or two of really cold weather and it’s looking like we will be cold for quite a bit. Some of the local lakes are starting to freeze up and rumors of a few folks venturing out on the hard water. I would exercise extreme caution on frozen water. There is not enough ice for it to be 100% safe yet. 1.5” is the most I’ve seen. It’s close but not there yet. I’ll give a report next week and we’ll see what shakes out. So what are you to do if you’re looking to get out and catch some fish? Lake Superior Whitefish on the Flathead River is a fun trip…

Fishing Report, Kalispell

If you’re in the Kalispell area and looking to get out and fish I would recommend Lake Superior Whitefish on the Flathead River. We’re using spinning rods with smaller tube jigs. Fish are in the slower water with a sand bottom. I haven’t really found them in the faster traveling water. Think slow and sandy to find the most opportunities.

Guided Fishing Trips

Montana Fishing Guides offers guided fishing trips all year long. Ice fishing season is fast approaching but not quite there yet. We are currently running guided trips on the Flathead River for Lake Superior Whitefish. We base the trip out of a jet boat to hit the most productive spots and stay on as many fish as we can. We provide all the rods and equipment. There is definitely something to catching Whitefish and we will help you through the process. Lake Superior Whitefish are also great tasting fish and it’s perfectly acceptable to keep a few for the dinner plate. We do a responsible harvest and can fillet up a fish or two for you.  We’ll be running these trips until the ice is safe and we’re full time ice fishing… Give a call anytime to book your next fishing adventure! 406-233-9001, the phone is on 24-7
